News about changes for mamashe/sheshe

mamashe/sheshe started this conversation

Comment to Aidmates:--Well I wrote this once but it failed to appear so here goes agin. Most of you have already noticed my new Avatar and picture. I choose to change my name to mamashe as most of my close friends call me that anyway and quite frankly I love the name. The car is a 49 Mercury and my husband built it from the frame up and the only disagreement we had is the lowering of the roof. I didn't wnt him to but as you can see, he won. Now....I intend to dome to aidpage more often and help in the only way I know how to and that is referrig visitors to the sites I know they will get good solid advice. I did this before about a year ago and it seemed to go over well. Since I don't deal in the giving of information I do know which sites have which information. After over two years here I have spent a great deal of time reading all of your pages and I must commend all of you for the mind mumbing work that went into them so If no-one objects I would like to start where I left off a year ago and I think this will be a win-win proposition for all of us. Thsi is the only wa I can think of to help those that seem lost ane are to shy to ask questions. I hope I have your complete support in this endeavor. One more thing my dear friends, Our Governor here in Washington Sate deemed it necessary to make drastic cuts acorss the board that included stopping funding for all Hospice care and Speech Therapy for Developely disabled persons as well as cut the transportation to and from medical appoinment for the disabled. On tip of that as of January 1st this year she cut all funds for optical care and glasses, all Dental work and Dentures as well and then to top it off she increased the coppay for our perscriptions which for me used to be free. WELL.....God and the thousands of letter (including 20 of mine) that flooded her office soon made her take a second look at this new policy and I just recieved a letter yesterday that informed me that as of July 1st 2011 ALL Optical, ALL DENTAL and Denture as well as extractions, all Hospice Care, SPeech Therapy and here,s the biggy..all co-pay over a $1.00 will bereinstated as of July 1st. Can you believe it? So I want to take this opportunity to encourage all of you to write your people in office a letter and get your friends to do the same and If you think that one little person can't make a difference, you are dead wrong. We don't have to just lay down and take the feeble decisions that run our lives without doing something about it. OK my dear friends I'm done for now. Love you Sincerely mamashe (sheshe)

in response to CATLUV...   Reply to Catluv:--No I don't go through SSDI, because my income is so low I qualified for medicaid as well. It is Medicaid that covers the part of my scripts theat medicare doesn't. Like I said in the last post you will have to apply to medicaid to see if you qualify for their help. Good luck sweetheart. move mamashe

in response to CATLUV...   Reply to Catluv:--OK, now...are you on any kind of medicaid? If you are they would pick up your perscriptions with just a samll co-;ay on your part. If you haven applied then you need to...I can't imagine that you and jon make to much money to qualify. The other way is to have your doc apply straight to the company that makes the drug. They will ask you your income and if you qualify each drug company with send you you up to a three months supply of your meds. Do you just claim yourself...by that I mean do you claim that you live alone and the only income you have is your ssdi? Keep in mind honey that you make quite a bit as far as monthly payments but do get your butt down to the welfare office and appy there first. if you have anymore questions just just let me know. love you mamashe

Mamashe,
Referring people to sites is great, but there are times that people just need to be heard, and have their feelings validated. Some times we can help more by listening and sharing lessons learned from our own experiences. You my friend serve a wonderful purpose here because you give the site that human touch that extends far above what a help site can accomplish.
I know that words cannot pay a bill, or meet a financial need but they go far in mending a broken heart and helping someone realize that there are people here who care about what they are going through.
The messages that you and I exchange mean a great deal because you take the time to make me feel better, and that my friend cannot come from a help site. You give that personal touch that makes me smile and adds encouragement to my day.
I appreciate ALL you do here. I am blessed through your support and prayers. You knowledge is a asset to the site and your loving heart is a bonus.
God bless
SEE YOU IN MY PRAYERS

in response to susie's son...   Reply to Susie's Son:----I don't deserve those words of praise as I so wish I were able to do more to help than just by referring people in need to sites they may or may not find help on. But coming from you dear Chris they mean a lot to me. I know the pain and horrific adjustments you are having to make due to all they removed in your surgery. You do it without complaining and yo do it while thinking of others first and I am so anxious to find out just how far this surgery will open up your world for however long. It doesn't really matter how long you have to spend here on earth what matters is the time you do have if quality time and that your able to build memories for us here on aidpage but more important for your wife Tori. Aidpage has so very many good sites available to all but as a new visitor it is rather complicated to find them so hopefull I can help people find the sites appropriate to their needs. I want to thankyou you and Char6 and Friendshelpingfriends and last but not least Sandy24 and Schmidty for encouraging me to stay and do what I do best so I do thankyou so much Chris for standing in my stead. Sincerely..... mamashe

Mamashe,
I cannot imagine anyone objecting to having you on the site more often. I am always happy to see your avatar show that you are online, but what I enjoy most is your words of encouragement and wisdom.
I guess I am sort of biased because I love you dearly and have benefited from your words many times. You have been Mamashe to me for a while, and the site would not been the same without your influence.
We could all learn from the example you set through your compassion, support, and understanding heart. You exhibit empathy, honesty, and love every time you extend your hand to help others.
You are MAMASHE and you define what this site stands for. Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us.
Love you
Chris

MamaSHe,
I am just excited and happy for you and the others that will benefit from this decision.I love your fighting spirit, and this lets others know that there is hope when things seem hopeless. You have so much to offer to this page and many valuable resources, remember we all contribute in different ways..thank you for referring people to my page for letter writing and other resources that they may not be comfortable doing themselves, just like you I am happy to share my experiences and want anyone facing a dilema right now to know that you dont have to be discouraged if you are having a problem, there are steps you can take or have someone take on your behalf and get results. I was just about to start up a fundraising campaign here to raise money for your prescriptions and glasses, but God came through before I could get it off the ground. Children, the elderly and disabled have a special place in my heart because they are often forgotten by society and their needs are not met, as they usually do not have a voice and rely heavily upon others to speak for them. Thank you for speaking for those unable to speak for themselves, and making a change.
All my love
char
